I am trying to update my AVG virus database but I keep getting a message that says my internet connection failed, check internet settings and try again. I am having no problem getting to any other site on the internet so why is this not working?

Hi Stephen47

Their servers are busy, it took me 5 attempts before my update was successful.

Keep trying or download the update file to your desktop and point AVG to that file.

Open the AVG control Center,
Double click on Update Manager to see the properties window.

Remove the checkmark for Do not ask for the update source
Apply, OK, to save and close.

Click on Check Updates, when AVG asks where the file is point it to the file on your desktop.

Let us know what happens.

Glad to hear it!

Remember to replace the checkmark for the next time you attempt to update AVG.

download the update file to your desktop and point AVG to that file. http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_updt7.php
Open the AVG control Center,
Double click on Update Manager to see the properties window.

Remove the checkmark for Do not ask for the update source
Apply, OK, to save and close.

Click on Check Updates, when AVG asks where the file is point it (Browse) to the file on your desktop.
Remember to replace the checkmark for the next time you attempt to update AVG.
Does that help?
