Hi

I hope this is the right place to post this question.

I have just uninstalled AVG7 to try another antirus software.
however I am left with the followin in the system startup, and I just cant remove it, tried thru msconfig, Spybot (system startup) CCleaner but to no avail the offender is
C:\Programm~1\GrisoftAVGFree~1\avgemc.exe

Is there someway I can remove this thing.

Thanks for any help

Have a look at this for uninstalling AVG.
You have to scroll halfway down the page to find it though...
Hope it helps.

Hi Golferbob

I want to uninstall AVG as im trying Avast, and understand that 2 antivirus detections running at the same time is not a good idea. ( I recently had a virus that AVG, Nortons & one other didn't find but Avast did so I thought Id give it a try )

Cheers and many thanks for your help.

Follow that link I gave you to download hijack

it is self extracting so just click OK when you run the download

Run the program, select scan and save a log

Open the log in notepad

EDIT - SELECT ALL
EDIT - COPY

Then come to this message, and in the quick reply box click in the white space and then EDIT - PASTE

you still have some AVG files in your system ,i see one on your startup. goto start - search [find] -files & folders -type in AVG and right click on each item to delete.
