avi files out of sync

    some of my avi files are out of sync.the audio is well ahead of the video,which moves very slow.i tried to fix it with virtul dub,but i didnt have the skills or knowledge to work it correctly.does anyone know of any software that might possibly help?thanks

    What's the processor speed? For divx or xvid, you need 450Mhz
    What's the framerate of the video? In VirtDub look under "video" "framerate".
    What's are the video information? post here everything you see under "file" "file information"

    This is a common issue with re-encoded video. It's FAR beyond the scope of a couple of messages here to explain it. :) I've been tinkering with ripping video from my TiVo and that's a very common issue, the solutions aren't always obvious...
