several options:-
1) A graphics card with a tv out connector, with the right leads u play the avi on your pc and u can see it on your tv
2) a dvd player that with play avi files from cd/dvd - these can be got for £30-£40, but youre need a cd/dvd burner.
3) If u have a dvd player that players dvd-r files u could convert the avi's to mpeg2 format and create a dvd - not recommended as a lot of time will be wasted converting, quality wont be any better and u need a dvd burner.
well if u have a card with a tv connector - then that would be simplist. you just need to figure out what the connector is on the back of your pc, and what will go into your tv.
on the other hand if u want to put the avis onto a dvd so that they will play in any dvd player u will need to do some conversion, and use a dvd burner. for converting between video formats i would recommend having a look at www.videohelp.com
