"back in time"

b I ..hello everyone and happy new year to ya. i was wondering how to get baxk in time on my pc(OS is XP). i was once told how to do in the past while working Win.98.
my pc was working fine last week but now it starting to freeze up. i ran a virus scan and nothing came up. also, i defrag, dixk clean up, scan disk but still same problem. my pc also even shut down on it's own. i did run two differnt virus scans. i have 512 ram, 40gb...if anyone could tell me how to do this that would be great...thanks.

Sounds like you are looking for system restore Right click My Computer > Properties > system restore . You can pick a previous date there .

I would suggest first you try to clean things up

Download Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware SE UPDATE and do a scan with both of them getting rid of all they find

Do a scan with Housecall and panda

After doing ALL th eabove

Download Hijack This 1.99.0 Do a scan and post the log here please

We will look at System Restore after things are cleaned up

thanks so much. i won't be able to do this until next friday(2-4-05) i'm away for work but i will post my results and again thanks so very much..you guys are the BEST!!

hello...umm, i hoping someone can help me with this probelm. here we go...my OS is 98, last week my pc was working fine, however i'm not sure what happen or what i did but i'm unable to get connected online. i have cable, it shows that i am connected and i know this because my laptop is able to get online(wireless). i was hoping someone to tell me how to "go back in time" on my pc..again, the OS is 98...thanks so much...standing by.
