Hi Good Peoples,

I have just purchased a Segate external 300GB drive and it is to become the main storage for my big files (like photos) but more importantly, as the backup for my lap top and desk top computers.

The drive has been partitioned appropriately for my use so it should all be fine; but I noticed that the "Bounce Back Express" soggyware that came with it is deficient in one major feature.

If for example, the lap top crashes I can't use the external as a bootable disk; I would have to buy Seagates Bounce Back Professional Software to do it.

Any idea please? Ideally I would like software that can configured to back up automatically too. In the case of an internal disk crash or disk carking it (which they do far to regularly,) I would like to be able to just restore the whole box and dice from the external.

Suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Hello TORB!
For backup I use 270Gb external HDD and Acronis True Image, it allows create full system image and restore it just in minutes.
Due to built-in sheduler, you could create incremental backup at particular time and date.
