backing up files

    Is there any way to backup my files without using the backup and recovery program because mine doesnt work and i dont have a external hardrive.

    Yes, there is. Just go to the individual folder that houses your files.

    My Videos, My Music, My Documents, Favorites, My Pictures
    Any .exe files that you need
    Any backup files for database type applications.

    Those files should be saved in folders with their respective names onto
    an external hard drive. Of course you can't backup installed software but you
    can save the installation files.

    Since you don't have an external drive you can use an online backup program such as Carbonite to backup your files. You can also back them up to CD or DVD.
