BAD File System

    I posted this in the windows section as well since I wasn't sure which section to post this.

    I downloaded the shareware version of partition magic 8 and it says my NTFS maxtor hard drive is not NTFS file system but BAD file system. I'm not sure what BAD is, but it means I can't partition my hard drive so I can install Linux. I don't want to format my hard drive but I guess I could be convinced if that's the only choice.

    Start with obtaining a boot disk from: www.bootdisk.com

    Next do a Google search on delpart.exe for sources of the program and instructions on its use. This DOS utility will allow you to eliminate the NTFS partition for formating with FORMAT on the floppy.
