Hello,

I have a computer that I believe was victim to a power surge. When I boot the computer it goes to the screen asking if I would like to boot windows in safe mode safe mode with networking, etc. when I make my selection it freezes. So I pulled the hard drive and hooked it up external to another computer with usb to saga cables. I am able to get to the root of the drive but when I go into documents and settings and choose user I get access denied and it says the folder is empty. I am able to access another user folder that is on the hard drive though. Am I out of luck or does anyone have advice for me?

Thanks,

You won't be allowed to access the private data on that drive from another machine since you don't "own" it.
You must be an administrator and take ownership.
