Hello, I have recently developed a problem. Every time I go to open up an application, I get a bad image error saying the application or DLL is not a valid Windows image and to check it against my installation diskette. I have seen multiple problems like this on the forums here, but the solutions look pretty specific to each problem (sorry if I'm wrong about that).

Anyway, I have done virus scans with AVG Free, Malwarebytes, and Microsoft Security Essentials, all of which have found something. I have cleaned up all of these problems, but I'm still getting the bad image errors. The weird thing is when I go to open up an application, for example Google Chrome, I get the bad image error, I click "OK", and Chrome goes ahead and opens like nothing ever happened. This is the same deal with all of my other applications.

I have posted my HijackThis log below (since it appears to be mandatory for solving the problem), and thank you to anyone who can help!

    Hi,

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds file to run the tool.
    • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
      1. DDS.txt
      2. Attach.txt
    • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
