i had a search on the forums, but the only other thread with this problem was unresolved, so i don't know if this is a lost cause.

With a little bit of research i found this site; http://kindel.com/blogs/charlie/archive/2004/05/26/282.aspx which seems to talk through what needs to be done, but all this is too complicated for me so i was wondering if anyone could go through it with me, bit by bit.

    thanks in advance.

You need to go here http://www.memtest.org/ to check your memory and get a start on the problem. Could also be a bad driver.

Some questions first. Do you have a floppy drive? How many sticks of RAM do you have in your system? When do you get the error?

i have not noticed any patterns in when i get the error, first it was when i was surfing the internet, and second time i was chatting on msn.

I have an NEC i-select M5210 Laptop, which has 256 MB RAM ( Just the one stick, i have not made any upgrades to the computer), and no, it does not have a floppy drive.

I've had a look at the site before, but there seems too many options of which test to download. Any Ideas?
