I am now unable to connect to the internet using People PC dial up service. I keep gettting a message stating "Bart Shell module has stopped working - this program cannot display the webpage". This is after I log on and my password is accepted by People PC.

People PC says they can't find a problem, it must be my hardware. Dell says my hardware is fine, that I have a spyware software virus that has corrupted the files to go online.

I plan to cancel People PC. Can you please help me get the Bartshell virus/malware off of my computer?

Hiya and welcome to Tech Support Guy :)

Are you still having thsi problem? If so, can you post a HijackThis log as follows:

    • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
    • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
    • Click on Install.
    • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
    • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
