Basic Network help needed!!

    i have two pc's with xp pro both have ethernet cards installed and i have connected them with a cross over cable.... i have run teh wizard on both machines, they have both made a workgroup called home... i have also made one machine hte host and hte other one shud be able to get on the net using my machine.... i hav ebeen trying for days to get it to work.. plz help me!

    I'd cruise over to AnalogX and pick up their proxy server. It's MUCH easier to get going than Microsoft ICS, and will get you running in a flash.

    If you don't mind spending a few bones.. I say get winroute lite

    analog x proxy is nice, but it's a proxy.. and it can be irritating to configure because you have to set each application to see it.

    THe main problem is i cant get hte computers to talk to each other, im not sure how to do it... i have used the network wizards.. i want to be able to share files etc.... and share net.... .. ( i will try the proxy and winroute)
