    Hey wasup,

I want to get BF 2142. My Dad is OK with it, but My Mom thinks otherwise.

My Mom Hates FPS's. If you could give me any Ideas on how to get her to let me get it, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Regards,
    Gregor Lumpkus

Tell your mom you've enlisted and playing this game is a requirement for basic training. :D

I had my mom buy it for me because she owed me money and she doesnt really care what I play, in the way of voilence.

Now my grandmother...she doesnt like me playing war games. But theres like nothing she can do. :)

Well, what do you expect? look at it from her view. She probably thinks its too violent and you're going to grow up to assasinate a president or join the army and die if you play that game.

Well, I used to have to argue with my mom to get a game. Hitman Blood Money was the hardest ever.

I just begged every day and gave reasons why I should have it. Every day. She finally caved.

I had to go over all the rating things like strong language, there was barely any swearing at all. I have 2142 and I see no reason why anybody at all should not be allowed to play it, there isn't even any blood. How old are you? Maybe she thinks your too young for a T rated game (if your not a teen yet).

Just keep begging her, then maybe call her a terrible mother and say you hate her...well...thats the last resort.

    Just beg, beg, beg.

well..how old are you? the game is rated at 16...so your argument wont go any where if your under that:) you need to find out what it is about it your mom doesnt like...if it is simply a case that it is shooting people and "senseless" violence then that is easy to argue against...as even in the bible you have alot of violent things happening, rape, murder, war torture stoneings...if she is worried that it is to violent and itl teach you the wrong thing then she is being far far to over protective...think about the world before TV and computer games...ther was always violence...and it was in the streets outside your house...not on TV! a few hundred years ago people under 16 wer used to alot worse things than they are being sheltered from these days...the torture and death of convicts was seen as entertainment...the romans with ther gladiators and blood games infront of the whole city...people cutting each other up for fun...i think that is worse than anything that you know is fake....its not as if you dont know the difference between real life and Comp games...

iv been playing violent games for many years and iv neva hurt anyone...the only people who hurt people are unstable in the first place..and the people who blame their vilolence on the violence on TV and comp games are just trying to cover up ther own instability as human beings

sorry about the essay ther...i just feel very strongly about people who blame and try to censor computer games...quite simply violence is everywhere and you wont escape it even if u lived in a bubble under the sea...nature is just as bad as we are...if your mom doesnt like the game she doesnt have to play it...she has no right to censor what you are legally allowed to play (so long as your 16 or ova...) you are your own person with your own life..and she cant run it for eva:)

I'm 14, and I thought "T" was 13. Anyways, I'm allowed to get ant "T" as long as there is no Sexual content or FP shooting. It just really bugs me...

Apparently she thinks FPS's will make killing an easier thing to do, and that I will lose the value of human life, technically, airsofting and paint balling are the same as playing an FPS, so why am I allowed to do those things, and not play FPS's?

She actually knows that I plan on joining the Marine Air Corps. or become a Marine Specialist, and she supports me when I'm looking for NROTC programs at Colleges.

well tell her then...the fps will soften the blow for when you are in the marines!

and besides computer games are nothing like real life!!! you can try to make them look as real as possible...but ther is a huge difference between controlling a picture on a screen and actually living life...
