    I get the message that it is not supported.
    Error 80040265.
    Microsoft solutions blow my little mind.

    Done it. Uninstalled, reinstalled and downloaded Directx 8.1
    Still no luck. But, I am still working on it.

    Eddie, I got the impression MBubb was trying to play streaming media from BBC....

    Gnossisless has got it . Its the streaming. I got the Simpsons O.K. but its not like the BBC news.

    Similar but not quite it.:confused:

    As its streaming, can you tell me the format that is being streamed? avi, mpeg, quicktime?

    I stumbled upon the BBC help. The upshot is that they, BBC, only support Real Player for video, which has to be bought or rented, so I gave up. Thanks for your interest.
