Belkin N wireless express card adapter not being recognized by XP

    The title says it all.
    Here is a link to another thread to show the steps that have already been taken. The thread grew silent, and I thought some fresh minds might help solve my problem.

    The only thing different is I installed Service Pack 3. This has not changed the behavior of the card. It still doesn't work, unless for some unknown reason it decides to.

    The only other solution I can think of is to flash the BIOS, but I don't want to do that unless absolutely necessary.

    For quick reference:
    Computer: HP Compaq presario v6000(I think)
    OS: XP SP3
    Modem: Westell model number: c90-610015-05
    Router: Linksys wrt54g
    Internal card: Broadcom (I don't know anything more about it.)
    External card: Belkin f5d8073 N wireless expresscard adapter

    Any help would be appreciated.
