    Hi Everyone

I have the above wireless router and am struggling with the speed offered. BT tested my line today and I have a capacity of 6.8 meg. When I plug a cable into my laptop I get 1 meg and if I use the wireless router it goes down to 54mbps - is this the capacity of the wireless router or is there something I can do to increase my speed?

    Thanks Everyone!

    Welcome to TSG.
I believe that the 54mbps that you refer to is the potential speed of your home network link, not the actual speed.
How did you speed test the wired and wireless links?
Was it faster before or is this a new network?

If your ISP speed is 6.8mbit, you're limited by the ISP, not the wireless speed. I have a 20mbit connection, and my wireless machines can benchmark at the full 20mbit, same as the wired machines.
