    Hi

    I am having problems contecting my wireless to my new router.

    The card will contect to the router when the secuirty is disabled but soon as I change to WPA-PSK it will not contect.

    Yes I have done the share key and chsnge the format in windows as well. but soon as I OPEN the properties of wireless networks and check the wireless card it has change to

    network Authentication open

    DATA ENCRYPTION DISABLED
    OR

    THE PASSWORD IS CHANGE.

    This is abrand new reinshall as well got all the updates and service pack 2 as well.

    PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP AS I HAVE SPENT 4 DAYS ON IT AND GETTING NO WHERE.

    P.S I GOT A WIRELESS DESKTOP WORKING FINE SO IT IS NOT THE ROUTER.

    Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

    Make/model of the broadband modem.
    Make and exact model of the router.
    Connection type, wired, wireless.
    If wireless, encryption used, (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.)
    Make/model of network card or wireless adapter.
    Make/model of your computer (motherboard if home-built).
    Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc.

    Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

    Belkin N1 Router Model No: F5d8231-4

    Wireless

    Wpa-wpa2

    Lan-express As Ieee 802.iig Mini Pci Adapter

    Sony Vaio Laptop Pcg K415b

    Xp Home Servive Pack 2 And Kb893756

    The Wireless Card Will Contect But The Security Is Disabled.

    The Card With Not Contect With Security Enable And Have Put In The Pre Share Key.

    Every Time I Want To Connect To The Wireless Network It Says

    The Network May No Longer Be In Range And Refresh List And Try Again

    When I Go Into Wireless Network Prop And Add A Network And Put All My Details And The Pre Share Key.after I Press Ok And Slect The Network It Cannot Connect.

    I Go Back And Check The Details And Sometimes The Pre Share Key Has Changed

    The Other Times Is That The Network Auth Has Changed To Open And The Data Encryption Is Set At Wep.

    I Have Already Tired Installing On A Working Xp System And Did The Same Thing.

    I Have Done A Fresh Install Of Windows But Still Got The Same Problem.

    I Have Only Change The Router From A Belkin G+ And The Laptop Work Fine But Snice Change To The New One The Security Mode Does Not Work.

    This has the earmarks of a firmware issue on the router. Have you checked the Belkin site for updated firmware for this router? I'd also try resetting to factory defaults and reconfiguring.

    I HAVE CHECK ON BELKIN AND THERE IS NO UPDATES ON VERSION 3000 AND I HAVE TRIED ALREADY RESETTING TO DEFAULTS AND STILL GOT THE SAME PROBLEM.

    CAN ANYBODY HELP ME AND SOLVE THIS PROBLEM :( :( AND THANK YOU TO JOHN(y)

    One last thing to try. In the wireless configuration of the router, configure it for ONLY 802.11g access, block out all the other protocols. See if that changes the issue.
