I recently bought a Belkin wireless G USB adapter F5D7050. I installed the software for it as indicated on my PC with XP

I can see it connects and see all the connetions through the wireless connection Icon (windows).

But to control the settings of the adapter, like setting up the WEP/WPA the software does not let me.
Actually nothing can be set on the software. The window just opens and you can wander through the tabs but nothing is displayed.

Has anyone seen something similar. Is it a setting in XP?

    Thanks in advance.

I had one that would not work till I selected my wireless connection icon properties and unticked 'Let windows set up my wireless network settings', so forcing the belkin to be the only setup utility. Just a thought.

    Hermes,

    Thanks for your reply.
I got it working but through Windows.
I recently had to re-image my machine because my drive crashed.
So I loaded XP that I got with the PC and of course this wasn't even with service pack 1
I was messing around with the adapter and that's when I posted this thread.
In the meantime my XP got updated to Service pack 2 with all the automatic downloading of updates. And now I have the adapter working with the Windows.
If i turn it off, that is, as you said and have the Belkin software work I have the same issue as I posted before.
But I don't need it anymore, now that it works with XP.
    Thanks again anyway.

I found the gui for belkin horrible and unwieldy after using netgear or linksys, but the hardware is great. Glad it's working.(y)
