i watched this the first time it was shown, and sat and watched it again tonight. this programme should be shown every week in every nation until everybody understands the plight of the afghan people. even though as i said i had seen it before, the harrowing shots of men and women being executed was too much. the pain in the children's eyes - you didn't have to ask what the taliban did to them, their eyes said it all.

i hope we are helping them.

Gram,

I'm curious about the fact you said this program was on Channel 4. Is Channel 4 the same in all of England? The reason I ask is because a channel here in the US is regional so Channel 4 in LA is not going to be the same in San Diego or San Francisco. I realize England isn't a large, but I would have thought there would be regional programming there as well.

BTW--why we are on the topic of television, would you please take back that Weakest Link chick!!!

In England unless you have cable or satellite ther is really only 5 channels so even though I only watch TV in Manchester channel four is the same everywhere although I don't know if different cities show the same programs at the same time

Mulder, don't you like Anne Robinson?

We don't want her back here either.

When I come home from work, the last thing I want to see is her.

The channels are the same over here, with the only differences in broadcasting that we see Irish Commercials, as opposed to the Uk ones.

Besides Sky1, Sky News, BBC1 and 2, UTV (ITV), and Ch 4, we also get RTE1 and 2, Network 3 (RTE3), and TnaG (Gaelic station). This is, of course, with cable or Satellite subscription. Without those, you just get the Irish stations.

Anne Robinson is brilliant, and I love the way the Americans react to her, sort of bemused, whereas the English get all snotty with her!

She is much better than the Irish guy we got doing our version! I believe he IS the weakest link of the show!

BTW, speaking of shows, when I was in Florida mid Oct, I saw Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Regis Philben??? Couldn't Network come up with someone better than that?

Gosh, our own Gay Byrne is pathetic, but Regis makes even him look good!

Do you not get Who wants to be a millionaire in Ireland? I love it, and the way Chris Tarrent keeps you on the edge, especially when we are waiting to see if someone has won £500,000 and get cut to a break!

Lukily for me, I have sky digital, but even then I only watch a few channels.

I do indeed get Tarrent's show, on UTV, and he has only improved since the first season, which I also thought was good.

Gaye Byrne, who used to host the Late Show in Ireland for a donkey's age, tries too much to be like Tarrent, but fails pathetically. He retired a few years ago, but "agreed" to come back to do this show! Many of us wish he had stayed retired!

For you US folks, he would be analagous to Johnny Carson, with mush less appeal!!
