I've heard pretty good things about
Granted, you will get a ton of different opinions here
Some like AVG, or Avast...I'm an AVG fan myself

For a free antivirus, I think Avira is the best.

Is Avira better than McAfee Security Suite to a noticeable degree?
It's hard for me to find recent comparisons between various antivirus programs.

Wait, does Avira have an umbrella as its icon?
For Avira, users, how long did it take you guys to complete a scan? I know this differs from pc to pc, but when I had this program a couple of years ago, it took more than 4 hours and wasn't very close to the end. Sorry for bombarding this thread with questions, but one last one: would Avira be a good combination with Malewarebyte's Antimalware?

I would rather have Avira than MacAfee...scans are long but so is Avg and yes it is a red icon with an umbrella.

Best Free AV: Avira (although AVG and Avast are close seconds)

Best Paid AV: NOD32 from Eset with McAFee close second

I wouldn't spend money on it. It doesn't appear to be worth more than $0.

So you believe that it is worth $0 but that is sufficient to protect your pc?

No on either count. I tried it and didn't like it. I was just offering my opinion.

Avira + Comodo + MBAM/A-Squared + SuperAntispyware/Spybot, is far better than even the best internet security available in the market.
