There doesnt seem to be a whole lot out there for this slot anymore, have a Radeon 7000 right now.
nah, cant buy an agp since upgrade to A64/939 is going to have pcie, then I'll get a 6600, I just dont play games enough to justify it. Hey are you saying a 4x/8x will probably work in a 2x/4x, I've heard thats iffy at best, I mean I know it'll work at 4x but thats got to be better than the 7000 he has now.Triple6 said:Transfer your Radeon 9500 Pro to it and then buy yourself a nice 6600/6800 series card
ok so it looks like a mobo that is 2x/4x will work with 4x/8x cards, that should give him a few more choices anyway.jflan said:
that should help, he doesnt need anything too great, but a 5/6 year old 7000-32mb is getting a might oldTriple6 said:Yup, any new AGP 8X card will work in a 4X slot; as long as its not a AGP 1/2X slot that only supports 3.3Volts as the new cards need 1.5volts.
