I need a cheap headset to use while playing Battlefield 2 and other games for VOIP. I'm not paying 100 bucks for a pair of headphones with a mic. I refuse, does anyone know of a good cheap headset with a mic? Or even something that I can just talk to and use my logitech 5.1 speakers with, that would be ideal, as I don't really like usuing headphone, but I will because I'll prolly hear them better. THanks.

I use these on my PC, they are not expensive, they have a mic and the sound is pretty decent (although nothing compared to a 70 or 100 dollar set of closed clamshell type of headphones). The mic works pretty well with voip apps. They are not the BEST in the world, but I dont feel as if I wasted my money by buying them either...

I would not go with speakers ESPECIALLY if using voip apps... your mic will catch the speakers and feed back into the voip app... effectivly annoying or pissing off anyone else on that same application.

Get the Altec Lansing AH502i, its about 40-50 dollars, but it has awesome sound, awesome bass, good mic, and are extremley comfortable

Right now i have a hepa filter in my house to clean out a mold issue, and its VERY loud, when i play games, these headphones block out all the sound when i turn the sound up.

Great headphones, comes with a nice 1-year warrenty too.

I have ones from logitech that has the traditional over-the-head bar.. not the best sounds but they work just fine.

oh.. i should add.. they don't completely cover your ears, which I like because it doesn't cause my ears to sweat.. :)

I tried the one above linked to newegg and didn't like it at all.

I don't recommend using a mic with your external speaker set up as it will create echos and feedback that your friends will not appreciate.

Thanks, I'd rather have it over my head.
