I know some people would never admit to watching sitcoms. "How boring and a waste of time" some would say. Yet season after season the same sitcoms make a return along with some new rivals to gain the ratings for each broadcasting company. And somewhere in that mix, over time (think back when you were younger), everyone had a favorite. Yes, even those that would admit to never watching a sitcom. So.......

Love em' or hate em', what was your alltime favorite(s)?:D

    Mine would be:

    1.) Night Court
    2.) M*A*S*H
    3.) Taxi

I liked Maude, Archie Bunker, The Golden Girls, Seinfeld and The Nanny to name a few of the older ones. I still watch the reruns. For the newer ones I like Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of Queens, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I also enjoyed the ones you mention.

I see nothing wrong with a good sit-com. I enjoy some of the British sit-coms on BBC.

I used to love to watch

    Cheers
    The Golden Girls
    Taxi
    Married with Children

I like most of the modern American sitcoms. King of Queens, Seinfield, and the one with Michael J Fox (can't remember what it is called) etc. On British TV - I loved Dad's Army - not too keen on some of the newer ones on the BBC though :D

Sitcoms arnt all that bad it just that you get a lot of sitcoms which make you laugh by using canned laughter rather then good quality gags.
A good sitcom has to have a dosnt have too much "silly" humour. Bad sitcomes are those which just use silly humour continusly.
The humur needs to be sutle to make it realy funny.

My fav is "My Family" UK BBC

by the way how do you spell humour

Well to borrow a little something from Friends.....

    Three, four...

    Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat,
    What are they feeding you?
    Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat
    It's not your fault

They won't take you to the vet
You're obviously not their favorite pet
    Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat,
    It's not your fault

You may not be a bed of roses
You're not friend to those with noses
I'll miss you before we're done
Or the world will smell as one

    Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat,
    What are they feeding you?
    Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat
    It's not your fault

    Cracks me up every time......:D
*now it's going to be stuck in my head the rest of the day*

Doc!!! Where the heck did all those words come from??? I only knew there was a first verse!

As an aside, last week I went to a concert where it was just a guy and his guitar and he was playing songs from his band but also playing songs from various other artists like Bad from U2 and Piano Man (on the guitar), etc. So people would yell out songs for him to play like Wonderwall or Imagine or whatever, which is kind of weird because don't you want to hear him play his own music? But in any case, it was sort of annoying because people would yell out the same song over and over even after he said he wasn't going to play it. So my friend leaned over to me and said "Don't you just want to yell out 'Smelly Cat! Smelly Cat!'" I was so unbelievably tempted. :D

Hmmmm ... that was a long story for something that was probably only funny to me. So ummmm ... back to the topic ... favorite sitcoms:

    Seinfeld
    Simpsons
    Scrubs

Apparently I have a thing for shows that start with "S". Oh, and Reno 911. And I was a HUGE fan of Night Court, but I find it much less watchable in reruns for some reason.
