    Hi guys,
I just bought an Expansion Drive from Stapples which is Seagate 1TB :

How to use it in the best way, i mean the safest way for it like :
Should I copy and paste or cut my data frequently on it ?
Where should I place it ?
Should I unplug it's power source when i'm not using it ? or just leave it ?
Should I unplug it's USB cable from PC when not using it ?
    etc.
    Need advices.
    Thanks Guys,
    Wayne.

You can treat it just like your normal hard drive. Copy, delete, defrag, hack, whatever you like. It's an external hard drive, so you can place it wherever you like. If you're gonna not use it for a couple weeks, unplug it to save power. But really, it's pretty low-maintenance.

Hmm...yeah, janikPilot basically covered it all. :D

Treat it just like your normal harddrive, but realize that you will get slower transfer speeds because you're using a USB interface.

(And also, don't install things like large games on it or what have you...again, because of the transfer speed. And most installation wizards use the C (or main drive) by default anyway.

hey i would like to thank you guys for all the helps. I'm just worrying that if i keep on plug it in my laptop it's led light keeps flashing ( i think that means it's working, and always working i think it's not pretty good for the Drive). So should I leave it plugged in ? about the source , If i let the electricity run all the time in it , is that fine ?

It's alright if you leave it plugged in, but it's up to you. And the electricity should be that big of a deal, but again, personal preference.

I have an external drive that I rarely use so I leave it unplugged.
