BIOS and DOS a: drive and Hard Drive

When I boot from a floppy and then go and try to switch over to the C: hard drive it says it cannot see it. But in the BIOS it's the 2nd boot device !

Do you have the proper command.com on the disk? Go into My Computer, put a blank disk in the A: drive, right click the drive letter and select format. Do a quick format with the box for system files checked. Boot to this disk and when you are at the A:> prompt type in C:

I'll take a wild guess and say you're running Windows 2000 or XP, right? Is the C: drive formatted with NTFS? DOS can't read the NTFS filesystem...
