Here is my problem: my computer worked perfectly until I
connected an external hard drive.( via usb port) Right
after that I noticed a smell from that enclosure - smell of
burning electronics. But computer recognised an extra hard
drive but, couldn't open any folder.I thought that that
hard drive is burned, replace it with other HD but was the
same, although without any smell my computer still couln't
open any folder. And then strange things happened. I
disconnected that external drive and restarted the system
to discover that only part of bios was loaded ( until:
searching for drives) OK - I restarted again and
...nothing! Black screen, no bios no sound from HD.
I thought: HD failure, so I bought new HD, installed
and...still nothing. I installed the old HD to my spare
computer as a slave and it works so the problem must be the
    bios ( I think so)
I visually checked the motherboard - it looks fine, all
fans are OK too. So what next to do?
P4, 3GHz, 1.5 GB, two HDs, Vista Business, AS Rock MB
    thanks for any help
