I have the exact same laptop and same problem. when it restarts during installation for the firs time it goes to blue screen and says "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please conact your system vendor for an updated version." Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Have you checked for a BIOS update at the Gateway site? I couldn't find a MX5360 model on their website.
