What is the exact model number of your Motherboard. Asus will have bios updates on their website.

Hi, this is the info on my everest report:
Motherboard Name Asus K8V SE Deluxe
    Motherboard ID 63-0302-000002-00101111-051804-Hammer$A0058002_BIOS Date: 05/18/04 17:28:13 Ver: 08.
And, to double check, this is the Belarc info:
Board: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. K8VSEDX Rev 2.00
    Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 1003.002 05/18/2004

Am i right in thinking updating bios can be risky? or is it not too bad?

    Thanks very much,

    Mikelo

When I first tried it, I thought it would be risky, but its actually not that bad but always make a backup of the current BIOS in case something goes awry
