I just uninstalled bitdefender (I thought. See above) because Canon says bit defender prevents my printer from printing via computer. So I try activating windows defender, and it won't stay on. I click start and it will stay on a few seconds and then ask to be restarted. It won't stay on. Is there an antivirus that you would recommend for windows 10? Thank you for your reply.

It sounds like there are still leftover files or services of Bitdefender running. Download the uninstall tool and run from Safe mode to see if it will completely remove it.
