I have the Black & Decker QS800 Sanding Machine, and after one of the two metal clamps that hold the sanding paper has broken, I purchased a new sanding plate (those plates hold those two clamps).

I removed the four screws that are holding the plate with the broken clamp, but still cannot separate it from the machine. I need instructions, or a showing video, or otherwise helpful URLs, how to do that.

    hello Hirnsausen!

My apologies it's taken this long to follow-up on your question. Are you still having issues with the sand paper replacement?

Hi. Yes, I have still issues. I am afraid to use any more strength in my attempts to remove the black sander plate to avoid additional potential damage, and wait for assistance before taking any more action.

I have to apologize. I spent quite a bit of time and couldn’t find a thing on this!!

However, I would think it can’t be that hard. The only thing is there may be a center knob that fits down into the plate.

Any directions with the replacement part? Maybe a picture of it?

Does the middle section look threaded; where you have to unscrew the plate?

I removed the four screws on the damaged original plate, but still cannot get that plate loose. There must be a trick or something. I could not find anything online that is helpful, too, thus I posted here. :)

It’s hard to see inside that middle piece. Is there threads?

That thing should come off with the screws taken out. I assume that plate is just kind of sticking on there. Honestly I would call or email Black and Decker support and ask.

If it was my own sander, I would probably just give it some persuasion trying to pull it off. But I advise against that as I don’t want you to damage your sander. Again, my apologies I wasn’t much help here.
