    Hi there.

I have just turned my Acer Aspire 5735 on and as soon as the logo comes up the screen turn black with a flashing dash in the top left hand corner. I can not get into safe mode, and can not press any F# except for F2 and F12. I have tried everything I have found on google but nothing works.

    Please help 20170329_064339.jpg 20170329_064412.jpg 20170329_064509.jpg

Have you tried holding shift as you turn it off and back on? I've had to reboot a few times holding shift as I click reboot and continue holding it until I'm in the recovery (the blue screen with the option to reset, boot into safe mode, etc.) Not sure if it will work with a hard shut down (holding power button until it shuts off).

I have also had success with hitting either esc, F1, or F2 repeatedly as soon as the power light comes on until it either gives me the option to go into bios setup, change boot devices, etc or takers me to recovery.

Have you tried unplugging it, removing the battery if possible, shutting it off, and then pressing and holding the power button for 25-30 seconds? It may come on and shut off a couple times while you hold down the power button, but it is a kind of reset to clear any startup errors from not shutting down properly, if I remember correctly.

I hope one of those helps.
