black screen asking for user name and password??

    Hi,

    I have a computer that has a black screen with a popup asking for the user name and password? I have no idea what they are talking about

    When did this happen? Did this happen during your initial bootup, or did your computer crash, or did this randomly happen?

    You may need to go into your CMOS setup, or standard/advanced setup, but if you're not comfortable with doing so, don't. But first things first, I need to know how you got to where you are.

    you need to give us more info...all that you can remember that led up to what happened..if we have to pull one bit of info at atime its going to take years :D to get to the solution...;)

    while it was booting up it just went to this black screen and the pop up asking for username and password appeared.

    did you try to boot into safe mode...is this a new install or have you been using it for awhile
