black screen no text visible everything else working

    You haven't given us very much information to go off of.

    When are you getting this black screen?

    How is "everything else working" despite you having a black screen?

    What's the make and model of the problem PC?

    im using windows xp, my start up screen is all black, i can see all the icons but the text is blacked out.messeges are blacked out in email. i've tried system restore using command prompt.no luck! i must have accidently changed a setting,but it is hard to fix when you cant see the text on the monitor.

    thank you Tech Support, i solved the problem by combining info from two different posts. Basically I right clicked on start button,then moved cursor in small increments until I opened up properties,and eventually found text settings.I performed another function that also could help to fix problem from keyboard. press WINDOWS key + R,type in desk.cpl press ENTER, press down ARROW KEY once,and press ENTER, you may try pressing ARROW KEY up or down a few times if the first time doesn't work out. Nevertheless it will take a bit of time and patience.
