I have a 4113 compaq presario with 14" monitor. The monitor went dark with the 4112 but worked fine on another box. Monitor is apparently and this says monitor is biased to cutoff and needs a positive voltage to make it work. I can maeasure the voltage. Can someone tell me what prongs on the cable carry the positive voltage and approximately many volts should be there.
Also, any other tips on checking back to point where voltage is lost would be appreciated. Could it be an adapter card?
Can they be checked awithout inserting a replacement? TIA.

Dont know about the voltage(s) but you said the monitor worked on a different computer? Can you try a monitor from some other computer on the Compaq? If it works and runs for awhile you can be reasonably sure that its not the vid card.
