I no longer have my system restore, I get a blank white page. I also can't do windows update, I can't load the active x control, nor do I get the option on top to do so. Could someone PLEASE  help, I don't want to have to reformat? :(

    Download and run HijackThis.
Click Do a system scan and save a log file. Post the log here.

Go to Start>>Control Panel>>Add or Remove Software and uninstall Messenger Plus!.

Run HijackThis and click Do a system scan only. Put a checkmark next to each of these entries and click Fix Checked.

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MessengerPlus3] "C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe"

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Messenger Plus!] C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe

Start your computer in Safe Mode, and see if System Restore works there.

Is it just System Restore that appears blank? (I'm guessing meaning the calendar is blank)?

Is anything else blank like Control Panel or Help?

There is also a fix here: http://www.dougknox.com

On the left menu, click on Win XP Utilities

Then on the right, scroll down and click on Repair Blank System Restore Calendar
