blocking website

hey my wife is addicted to yahoo games i just want to block it for a week so she actually does something else besides playing scrabble and those grammer games :D

but problem is.. i dont know how to.. can someone please tell me how i can block a site like yahoo games?

What OS do you have? How are you connected to the net? Do you have a router?

Boy I wish I could be a fly on the wall in that house when this is done.

You need to find out the site that yahoo games uses and block it in your hosts file I am not sure if you can just do 127.0.0.1 yahoo.com and block it all but thats probably the easiest way.

Yea add the sites to the hosts file will work great.

Just clear the cache or temp folder too.

This would be a big mistake!

If you do this she will find things that you need to do, you must be a newly wed.

I am on the opposite side... I try and get my wife to play games with me and she won't... is there a hosts file that can force a wife to play games? :)

lol thnx guys ive decided not to do it but i am sure blocking bad ads that have disturbing images.. (dont want my son involved in that)

You can always do this:

If you have Norton Internet Security : go to personal firewall, configure. Then go to Networking tab and click restricted. Press add then type the yahoo stuff. Click OK. It should be blocked.

If you have a linksys router: Go to whatismyip.com then type that IP (your IP in the address bar) and access your router using the user and password you designated. Then go to access restrictions and set times she can be on!
I do both of these all the time! It works! :D
