Welcome to TSG pabest. If you haven't installed or uninstalled anything recently and the problem began in the last few days, a quick fix might be to restore a previous registry. You can do this by going to Start>Shutdown>Restart in MS-DOS mode. At the c:\windows> prompt enter:
scanreg /restore
use your arrow keys to select a prior started registry from one of the first 4 displayed. The last, 5th, cannot be used.
That might fix the problem, but it always helps to give us a post of your startups to see what suggestions can be made for cleaning things up. You can do this by downloading, unzipping and running the StartupList application from the site below. Then copy/paste the results to a reply.
