Hello there,

I have attempted to install Windows 8 several times now, with each attempt failing. Setup goes perfectly, and it installs device settings, but after rebooting, it displays a blue screen; PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. I have tried both a clean install and an upgrade, each time with the same result.

Here is my system information:

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 5 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 16382 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5570, -2048 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 1907727 MB, Free - 1769055 MB; D: Total - 1907727 MB, Free - 1906684 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC., M4A78LT-M
Antivirus: AVG Internet Security 2013, Updated and Enabled

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks, but the only security software installed on my system is AVG, so this fix won't really help me.

As I mentioned in the first post, the installation fails even on a clean install, so security software won't make any difference.

Yes. It displays a black screen with the Windows logo, and it says it's installing device settings. It completes this, reboots, showing the Windows logo and a spinner, and then gives me a blue screen with the error message PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.
