My computer has been having "random" restarts for a week or two. Today was the first day i witnessed one.

It was a blue screen of death, followed by a auto reboot.

    It's happened 3 times today :(

I'm an experienced user, but I've never done any BSOD troubleshooting.

Here's the info that i got when vista restarted:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: c2
    BCP1: 0000000000000007
    BCP2: 000000000000113D
    BCP3: 000000000460002B
    BCP4: FFFFFA8008928A10
    OS Version: 6_0_6000
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini040608-02.dmp
    C:\Users\Troy\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-4489396-0.sysdata.xml
    C:\Users\Troy\AppData\Local\Temp\WERFEC9.tmp.version.txt

    ------------------
rar file of the mini dumps
thanks in advanced for your help.

It looks like an antivirus or firewall issue, since all of the "April" faults are as below with only one exception, which could also be a firewall issue.

    BugCheck C2, {7, 113d, 452000e, fffffa8006731910}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\klim6.sys, Win32 error 2

    Probably caused by : klim6.sys ( klim6+23aa )

    thanks!

i've uninstalled kaspersky to see if it makes a difference. (seems that file was associated with kaspersky)

I'll be happy if it does, even if it means not using the software i paid 40 bucks for :)

I'll post back as soon as i know if it worked or not.

Interesting as the antivirus program incompatibility in Vista moves onward and upward. I have seen Bit Defender completely screwing up a system and Avg many failures to update and failures with email scanner as well in Vista.

Rich, I agree, they will work fine for months and then screw up; firewalls and email scanners especially.

So, no crashes since i've uninstalled kaspersky and haven't had any crashes (or even hangs for that matter)

Thanks for your help - but now what should i run for AV?

Avira if you want free or www.eset.com (Nod32) if you want the best.

I don't have any particular recommendations other than to say I've been using the free version of AVG on all my systems. But then it really never needs to do anything for me.

I run Panda Internet Security 2008 on my Vista Ultimate & Business computers, as well as XP Pro computers. I had trouble installing PIS 2008 on my Vista Business computer, from Vista compatible CD. Took an updated installation file to solve that issue.

On my XP computers, I neeed 1.25 GB ram for the system to run at a reasonable pace, with PIS installed.
