Cheers will wait to hear how you are going in clean boot
If all is OK
list the services disabled - screenshot
and the startup items disabled
then we can examine the likelihood of the causation being one of those.

the 1000$ question is now - when did you download the new driver for the ethernet

#33 ·
Cheers
only reason I asked was because if of course BSOD was after that driver, then the cause cannot have been the outdated driver.
Wait to hear from you

#36 ·
Yes I would wait, as it just may be hardware and if it is of course the install of 7 will do not good
I will look at the dump
In the meantime

1. Go to clean boot
open msconfig
click normal startup

reboot

2. Run a system file check
Microsoft flag left of desktop
right click
admin cmd prompt
type
sfc /scannow

report result please
I will look at the dump

Beginning verification phase of system scan.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

I am sure you have had a look at the log from the system file check
There is something very wrong here

To give you some idea and it is only a very small part of just one dump
DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: CODE_CORRUPTION

MODULE_NAME: memory_corruption

IMAGE_NAME: memory_corruption

FOLLOWUP_NAME: memory_corruption

DEBUG_FLR_IMAGE_TIMESTAMP: 0

MEMORY_CORRUPTOR: LARGE

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_MEMORY_CORRUPTION_LARGE

BUCKET_ID: X64_MEMORY_CORRUPTION_LARGE

Followup: memory_corruption

There is looking at all of the dump a problem in many parts of the file system for windows

Comparing the latest dump with the others AND the results of the system file check AND now the failure of the Deployment Imaging Servicing component
I am of the opinion that this is not repairable by dump analysis

Before you proceed with a install of 7, 8.1 or indeed 10 I would strongly advise a memtest and a chkdsk.

If you wish to so proceed please indicate and I will provide links and guides

#42 · (Edited)
I will post memtest

re chkdsk
right click drive
click properties
tools
check now
click to check both boxes
windows will possibly tell you that your drive does not need to be checked as since windows 8.1 this is automatically scheduled
However some file corruption or system changes by the user prevent this automatic disk checking, so ignore the message and check it

After that go control panel
admin tools
windows memory diagnostic
open it and click restart now and check
after he check the computer reboots
go to the notifications area of the system tray - the taskbar right corner
and the results will be there

Depending on what if anything chkdsk or WMD finds we may still run a memtest
but that requires a CD burning and boot from or a usb flash pen boot, so lets try this first

I am not in the slightest angry - there is absolutely no reason to be
Just lets hope it was not hardware related

AV choice is yours
I use MSE on 7 and WD on 8.1 and will do on 10
However my browsing is mainly in connection with this site and marine matters - as I am involved in boating issues
I do not use or even look at P2P nor do I download free software from any of the popular sites, so generally my AV has little do to

The great advantage with MSE and Defender and particularly the latter on 8.1 and 10 is its total compatibility with Windows and all its updates and the Store

I support my AV with a scan with the free malwarebytes

As I said the choice is yours

If it is any help to you I have spent the last three days solving problems on a laptop of a friend where someone had convinced him that Defender was only base level security and he needed AVG
It was installed for him as a free trial with the AVG Tune UP
This marvellous tune up system optimizer found 151 registry errors and corrected them.
They were ONLY errors as far as the rubbish program was concerned
NO updates would install
The Store would not work
The sfc returned errors
DISM would not work

After two nights I gave up and reinstalled 8.1 and then 10

However as I said the choice is yours

If the reinstall and the running go OK mark it solved please by clicking the mark solved button on your post
The return to 7 still has me beat in comprehending its purpose if 8.1 was OK
