I got a new computer, and put all the pieces together, and it ran great... at first. But every once in a while It will blue screen listing a seemingly random error message. when it is doing this, it often happens once every 4-6 hours of computer use, but sometimes as often as every 30 mins. It cycles about once a month between one week of being really bad, and 3 weeks where it hardly if ever happens.

some of the error messages I've recieved: "IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL" (this one is the most common, probably about 40% of the time)
BAD_POOL_CALLER
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
some errors concerning mrxsmb.sys and ntfs.sys (I failed to write the whole error message down in time.

there was another piece of paper I had with like 6 more erros that were all in caps with underscores, but I have lost the piece of paper they were written on.

my hardware is as follows:
2 CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
1 Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

whats the windows version you have, just seen the edit for XP

goto
control panel>
system>
advanced tab>
startup and recovery - settings>
under the title - system failure
untick - automatically restart

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320299

now when it crashes - it willnot restart and the blue screen should stay on the screen
post the info on the screen
it will give the errorcodes and a filename, if caused by a driver.

the 2 most common errors have been recorded as follows:

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
stop:0x00000043 (0x00000099, 0x00054693, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
stop: 0x00000050 (0xf2018fe8, 0x00000000, 0xbf8075dc, 0x00000002)
win32k.sys, adress bf8075dc, base at bf800000, datestamp 41107f7a

also, just today I started getting a persistant error message "wuauclt.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" this is most likely just a corrupted file from too many crashes that can be fixed with a reinstall of windows (which I am willing to do)
