Hello,

I have been having this problem for weeks now. Haven't had enough time to really look for solutions 'til now. I don't know if the cause was a virus, or spyware, but whatever it was, it seems to have left my comp messed up. I recall a virus or trojan, something or other, that was restricting me from using admin rights in safe mode unless I was logged in as the admin, as opposed to my profile. (both have admin access)

The Problem:
Whenever I run XP, normally, within about five minutes of windows starting and getting set up, it crashes and I get a blue screen. I got some info on one of the many events from the event viewer. Here it is:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xf6dcfa7e, 0xf4b029e8, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini013007-01.dmp.

However, this simply does not occur in safe mode. Everything runs fine. However, I would like to be able to use my computer in normal mode, and enjoy, well, all the things I paid for. Any help would be appreciated, and if any more info is needed please don't hesitate to tell me.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

I would suspect a driver issue, the first I would look at is your video driver. Try updating, also download and run Memtest to check your memory.
