Blue Screen..VXD SYSAUDI(05)+00002518 Error

When I turn on my computer it first tells me that : Vmm.32vxd is missing or can not be loaded then I have to go to safe mode or the whole computer will just turn it self off...
i am running windos 98 .
after i put the Missing file in (in safe mode) it ask me to restart thats when it pops to Blue screen with VXD SYSAUDI(05)+00002518 Error .
this is driving me nuts!
Please help..

First of all "vmm32.vxd" is not a normal file that can be "replaced". I don't know what procedure you used to do it, but it must be "created" by running a windows reinstall. If it were really missing or damaged I don't think you would even have been able to boot in Safe Mode -- although there are some types of errors that "say" it is missing when it really isn't.

The reason is that it is setup based on your specific computer's hardware configuration. So if you copied something from somewhere else, that would explain the new errors.

Did you backup the "old" vmm32.vxd before trying to replace it?
