I have a Blue Yeti microphone connected via usb. It works fine when it doesn't whine but when it whines it makes all my friends ask me to mute it, I mute it but then the whine is still there. I found a solution to it by unplugging the microphone when this happens. But I want to figure out how to remove the squealing for good.

Are you using the original factory USB cable? Are you using a extension USB cable or hub? Read where one guy fixed his by using the original factory cable , he was getting it from the replacement USB cable he was using. Or you could try a shielded USB cable.

I am not because the factory cable was not working and the wires were un-threading.
Edit : I am just using the usb ports on the back of my PC.

You may need to try different cables, maybe an OEM replacement for it. Where did you buy the cable you are using?
