i had a machine(xp sp2) a few weeks ago which managed to install a nasty trojan called buritos.exe, after installing nod32 security software, all traces of buritos.exe have disappeared. However now it's started doing something which i've not seen before - if the machine is left idle for more than 5 minutes, it goes through a continuous cycle of blue screening (with a different blue screen error message each time) followed by windows rebooting followed by blue screen..etc, however, while its doing this continuous blue screen/reboot cycle, if i remote into it from a different machine i go straight to the desktop no problems! whats all that about?

Do you still get the bsod when running in safe mode?

If you can remote into the system, I would recommend running a full system scan. Also, see if you can run a HJT scan and, if possible, post a log here.

Its a little hard to help from here without seeing some of the bsod errors that you get.
