Boot devices in parentheses

Hi, I wanted to use a Win 7 PC that had been unused for several years. I built it about 12 years ago and it is based on an ASUS M44A785TD - V EVO Mobo with an AMD Phenon II X2 550 CPU. The BIOS is American Megatrends v02.61.
It would not boot until I set the time and date, then it took ages to boot so I decided to install an SSD that I had to hand, intending to install Win 10 or possibly Linux Mint. Having instakked the SSD only one boot device in parentheses is shown. The date and time needed resetting again.
The question is, how to show all boot devices and to remove the parentheses from them?.
Your support in this would be much appreciated.

Thank you guys, I had replaced the battery before seeking help. The PC runs as usual with the original HD connected, but the BOIS still shows the boot items in parentheses.
At the outset I booted the PC and it worked OK but was slow. I then decided to swap the HD for an SSD and switched the HD connections to an SSD, expecting it would look for an OS to be installed, it didn't.
