Boot disk installing

    I have recently had a problem with my windows 98 and so I have put a boot disk in and now it comes up with this message:
    Table


    Write behind all data will be committed before command data prompt returns.

    For help type "smartdrv /?"

    yeah I have just started booting it up with my boot disk

    Try.
    At the A> prompt.
    Type.
    sys a: c: [note spaces]
    Then type.
    fdisk /mbr
    This should repair master boot record.
    Remove disk>reboot.

    Let us know if that helps.

    Hi
    I have had know progress with that it does not work, it says:
    'To many parameters-fdisk' I have recently got a windows XP CD If wonder I could install this or whether I have to fix the boot disk problem first?

    If anyone can tell me the answer to either of these questions please help.

    I have a gateway G5-200.

    The Prossecor is a pentium mmx
    It RAM is installed

    We will need to know the processor speed.
    For Xp the minimum needed is a processor speed of 700-800 Mhz.
    Installed Ram 256 Mb ..512 Mb of Ram would be better.
