Boot error

    Hi, i have recently got a error i cant fix and have been trying for a few days, when i boot up my comp it give me a error saying the file " windows/system32/config/system" is corrupt or missing put in the original xp cd boot up and hit "r" for repair at the first screen, ive done this and nothin happens it just does the same thing goes to the hit "r" screen.

    Ive also tryed hitting f8 and using the options there none of which work, it all just leads back to the screen with the text from above^^ if anyone had the same prob any help would be nice (y)
