Hi all, I use Windows XP and my boot.ini file got messed up (some strings were incorrectly changed) and as a result I cannot boot to get into WinXP again to change it back

I know the rebuild function of Windows XP install disk but I don't have that disk, I only have the product recovery CD that came with my laptop which only gives me two choices: complete recovery (deletes all data and install WinXP fresh), or quit. And I can't do that because of lots of important data.

My laptop also has no floppy drive

Is there any way I can make a boot CD that can boot to DOS and allow me to edit boot.ini?

Thanks in advance, I'm really desperate!!! :(
